TCG Collect (“we”, “the app”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy describes what data the app uses
and how it is handled.
Data we use
Card photos. When you scan a card, the app sends the photo to our servers to identify the
card. A cropped copy of the scanned card may be kept on our servers to measure and improve recognition accuracy.
The copy is stored with the scan's session ID, which our usage events can connect to your anonymous user
identifier (see below). Photos are never linked to your name or Apple ID and are never used for advertising.
Your collection. Your saved cards, quantities, and set information are stored on your device
and, if you use iCloud, in your private iCloud account. We do not have access to the contents of your iCloud data.
Subscriptions. Purchases and subscription status are handled by Apple through the App Store.
We do not receive your payment details.
Usage analytics. To understand how the app is used and to improve recognition, the app sends
basic usage events to our servers (for example: a scan was made, a search was run, a card was added to the
collection, the search text, which screens were opened, when the subscription screen was shown, a completed
purchase (the plan and whether it was a free trial, never payment details), how long a scan took, and error
messages). These events are tied to an anonymous iCloud user record identifier, or to a random identifier kept on
your device if you do not use iCloud, not to your name, email, or Apple ID. We do not use this data for
advertising or tracking across other apps.
What we don’t do
We do not sell your data. We do not use your collection or photos for advertising targeting. We do not require an
account to use the core scanning and collection features (only an Apple ID for iCloud sync).
Third parties
Apple: in-app purchases and iCloud sync are subject to Apple’s
Privacy Policy. Our recognition service runs on cloud infrastructure; card images are processed to return the
card identity and are not used for building marketing profiles. Card images, prices, and set data are provided by
third-party card databases; see TCGplayer’s privacy policy for
their practices.
TelemetryDeck: the app sends the same usage events to TelemetryDeck,
a privacy-focused analytics service, which receives the identifier only in hashed form together with basic
device information (such as the iOS version and device model). We use it only for usage statistics.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will be revised when we do.
Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
